SYNTHESIS OF CHALCONES CONTAINING AZIDE GROUP
In the paper, seven new azide chalcones 5a-5g were synthesized from 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone in good yields via a 3-step procedure including selective O-alkylation with 1,2-dichloroethane, nucleophilic substitution with sodium azide and Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction with different aldehydes 4a-4g. The structure of the azides chalcones was elucidated by spectroscopic methods such as NMR and HR-ESI-MS spectra.
