Tóm tắt

DIVERSITY OF TESTATE AMOEBAE IN WATERBODIES OF THE NORTH VIETNAM

Testate amoebae are a group of protozoa that play an important role in the food chains and webs. This group of organisms is increasingly interested in research due to its great ecological value and potential for practical applications. This study provides new data on the diversity of testate amoebae in the waterbodies of North Vietnam. From 337 samples collected from 134 sites in the study area, 110 taxa (species, subspecies, and forms) of testate amoebae belonging to 21 genera, 10 families and incertae sedis Arcelinida were identified. In this study, 15 taxa were recorded in Vietnam for the first time. In the total of samples, the most species-rich genera were Difflugia, Arcella, Centropyxis, Netzelia. For each habitat type seperately (planktonic, periphytonic, and benthic), the most species-rich genera were in the same above order. Species Centropyxis aculeata, Difflugia schurmanni, D. elegans, and Arcella discoides were the most common in the study area with the frequency of occurrence was 55.3%, 37.3%, 34% and 24%, respectively, which were clearly higher than that of remaining species.
